Mara is the second fastest ever British woman over the marathon, with a PB of 2:23:12 and has represented Great Britain at the Olympics, Commonwealth Games, World Athletics and European Cross Country championships. Amongst her many achievements are a 6th in the Olympic Marathon in 2008 and a Bronze medal at the 2006 Commonwealth Games (10,000m). Plus a huge range of outstanding personal bests, including 5000m: 15:28.58, 5k 15:34, 10000m: 31:49, 10k 31:40, Half Marathon: 68:29, Marathon 2:23:12
Arranged by Cornwall Athletic Club, and part funded by Duchy Athletics Network,CAC and England Athletics, this is your chance to hear from one of the best British female endurance athletes of the past two decades. We are extremely lucky to have this opportunity, so please do spread the word, sign up NOW for your ticket, and bring your burning questions with you on the night!
Although the presentation is based on the marathon distance, Mara is happy to answer questions on other distances too.
* Tickets are only free to DAN club members (ie members of Cornwall AC, Hayle Runners, Newquay Road Runners, St Austell Running Club, Newquay and Par AC and Truro Running Club) Non DAN members will be charged £5.00
It's taken a lot of organisation, so it would be great to get a good crowd and make the most of an incredible opportunity.
