Cornwall Athletic Club was established on 1 January 1984, as a result of the amalgamation of two long established clubs, Duchy of Cornwall Athletic Club and West Cornwall Athletic Club. The Club meets at the Carn Brea Leisure Centre, Pool, Redruth and the main training evening is Tuesday, beginning at 6.30pm, apart from the under 11's whose summer sessions begin at 6pm. Training takes place throughout the year. In the winter the track is floodlit and a range of indoor facilities are also available.
Cornwall Athletic Club offers the full range of Track and Field events, under the supervision of qualified coaches. There is also a strong Road Running section and in the winter Cross Country is the main form of competition, although the younger members take part in the increasingly popular Sportshall Athletic Meetings.
