Yoyo Barnsley breaks 26 year old Under 17 County mile record

Cornwall AC's Yoyo Barnsley, recently competed with great distinction in the British Milers Club Grand Prix meeting at the historic Iffley Road track in Oxford, where Roger Bannister became the first man to break the four minure barrier way back in 1954.

Yoyo, taking part in the Under 17 mile, smashed the previous record, set by another Cornwall AC runner, Heidi Hosking in 1989. The former record stood at 5.02.05 but Yoyo eclipsed this mark by almost 10 seconds, clocking 4.53.93, which propels her to the top of the Cornwall All Time List for this event in this age group.

Yoyo waas delighted with her performance and to be awarded the Frank Horwill Mile Trophy.
