Cornwall AC is very fortunate to have an excellent team of over twenty UKA qualified coaches, covering the entire range of Track and Field events and Road Running. We are always anxious to recruit more people into coaching and the Club will consider providing financial assistance for those attending Coaching Courses. We would particularly like to increase our coaching team in the throwing events and with the Under 11 group.
We encourage newcomers who may be interested in coaching to begin by working alongside our qualified coaches and then to attend an Athletic’s Leaders Course, which gives a general introduction, before progressing on to the Assistant Coach qualification. All our existing coaches are more than happy to support those new to coaching.
Our coaches are also encouraged to seek opportunities to improving their coaching qualifications and therefore further develop their coaching knowledge and skills. In addition, all the coaches are CRB checked and encouraged to attend safeguarding / protecting children and first aid courses provided by the club.
