Hello,
We are carrying out some pre-planning for the 10th Anniversary of the Coose Trannack Cross Country Races next year. The date we have in mind to run the races is Saturday am 6th March 2010. I have looked at all of your websites and I think I am correct in saying that this date doesn't clash with any other event.
Just to remind you, the races cater for school children aged from 5 to 16. It is organised by the PFTC (Parents & Friends of the Trannack Community - a charity associated with Trannack Community Primary school near Helston). It is a challenging steep course held in a millennium woodland, with stunning views over the Lizard Peninsular.
It is an independent open invitation event. Races are run in school age categories. Runners compete for themselves, their school and their club concurrently. There are individual medals for the first three placed finishers & these top three also score points for their schools in the inter-school event (won last year by Bolitho School - Junior category & Helston School - Secondary). Furthermore, there is an inter-club event whereby runners who declare their membership of any particular club can earn points for their club towards an inter-club trophy (won by Mounts Bay Harriers last year)
Last year we had 501 runners across all categories. This year we are hoping as ever to attract higher numbers and we are particularly keen to increase the number of entrants in the higher age categories. It would be great if we can have all the major clubs in the area attending to compete for the inter-club trophy.
