A few of our most desperate race-aholics turned out, in the middle of a busy time in the Cornish Grand Prix, at Truro for Truro Running Club’s multi-terrain race, the New Max.
Young Matt Cleave had another great race, leading for a while before eventually succumbing to the strength of Shaun Milford but still getting 2nd place in 40.25. He was ably backed up by Steve Wherry, who came a fine 6th in 44.43, Dave Angilley in 8th with 47.38 and Phil Bolt, bringing the A team home in 1st with a good run for 15th position in 50.38.

Phil, delighted to score in the winning team
Bethany Alston was 19th overall and 1st lady in 51.26, winning by well over a minute and Donna Hillman was 109th overall, cruising round on a training run in 1.09.45. Sandwiched in between was new boy Steve Opie in 71st with 59.51 on a course apparently longer and hillier than the old route.

Bethany, the New Max winner
Jill Curtis was 137th overall and is gradually getting fitter, with Johnny Alston looking good on his first race for ages in 156th in 1.16.38.
