The Scotland Team earned a Bronze medal at the Marco Germanetto World Mountain Runners Association International Youth Challenge on Sunday 22nd June at Susa in Italy, with James Waldie coming a respectable 21st in a field of 50 under-17 runners from ten European Nations. Italy took Gold, with Russia pipping Scotland to the silver by 1 point.

In a searing heat of 30C, determined to finish on the podium, James once again started very quickly (too quickly! - Pete Meredith - what do we do with him?) and after the first of four laps of the course was running second, behind one of the Russian athletes. By the the mid-way point, however the heat and ambitious start took it's toll and he gradually lost ground
