The CAC Ladies still aren’t relaxing, despite having sewn up the Cornwall Glass and Glazing Grand Prix title way back in July and duly took the team award in the recent Truro Half Marathon, with Suzy Bosustow and Kathryn Burgess taking 1st and 2nd places.  The Men showed what great strength in depth we have, by finishing 2nd, despite once again, missing some of our best runners.

Suzy B stormed to victory with a five minute winning margin and was followed by Kathryn B, with her best ever Grand Prix result in 2nd.  Caroline Chesterfield took 14th position (3rd V45) and Kiri Wedlock made a welcome return to club colours in 28th to bring home in first place.

Jenny Evans was 201st overall and went well in an over-distance race for her and Lynette Torr was 358th overall of the 437 finishers (3rd V55).

It was great to see Adrian Ball back racing and the horrendous hills suit him as he cruised through the field to 7th position, winning the Veteran’s 40-44 category (a first, Adrian?).  Shaun Tozer was not far behind, looking very strong in 10th, with the Grand Prix points machine, that is Justin Thomas, placing 16th.  Paul Chesterfield and Neville Witham chased Suzy home in 20th and 21st positions respectively.  Paul won the 2nd V45 prize and Nev was 3rd V50.  Adam Tatlow took 27th to ensure second place for the Men, just before he heads back to Uni. to focus on hockey and squash.

Dave Southby was an excellent 34th and Martin Wills took a fine 58th position, continuing his rapid rise through the ranks of local runners.  Chris Gale looked good in 72nd and was followed home by raceaholic Barry Frost in 106th  (his 3rd race in a week!).   Viv Bray was the only one smiling up the hill at nine miles and came through quite a few in the last four miles to place 198th

Phew!  Just managed to get that one in before Newquay.
