International Call Up for James. Southern title for Conor

James Waldie, CAC’s young fell running specialist, has been selected for the second successive year for the Scottish Team for the forthcoming World Mountain Running Association Youth Challenge at Ostheim vor der Rhoen in Germany on Saturday 27th June.

This comes after James won the 2nd of two qualifying races at Scolty Hill, Banchory on 7th June.

The Youth Challenge is a 5km course with around 1100ft of climb and should be contssted by around 10 European countries.

Conor won the South Of England Under 17 3000 metres today, in a new personal best of 8 minutes 41 seconds, a couple of seconds clear of the runner up.  This time lifts Conor to fourth in the UK rankings and it’s only his first year in this age group!
