Personal Bests Galore in Bath Half Marathon
Outstanding Ladies and Men looking for top three team position

Fourteen intrepid souls ventured up to Bath for a fast Half Marathon last weekend and after surviving an hour delay due to heavy rain, at least got a dry run, with many Personal Bests being set.

Our Ladies all had blinding runs.  Jo Friday at last put a good one together at Bath and sailed home in 1.18.20 for a near four minute Personal Best and an unofficial 9th position (114th out of 10,009 finishers).  Donna Hillman also set a big PB with 1.23.07 for 19th lady, her second Half Marathon improvement in 2 weeks!  Emma Stallard continued her good form with 1.25.45 for 26th, despite slowing towards the end and was closely followed by Suzy Bosustow’s huge PB of 1.26.41 for 32nd lady.  Lynette Torr also ran well with 1.56.14 to finish in the top half of the field and we hope our Ladies have finished 2nd team, which would be a fine achievement in a big race.

Yet another Half Marathon PB for Donna

On the Men’s front, CAC were led home by Matt Pullen, who had a great run, despite suffering badly with a stitch in the last mile and losing a lot of time.  He still ran a three minute PB of 1.12.40 for 34th overall.  Dave Buzza cruised home (not!) in 41st with 1.13.06, with Noel Kindon suffering on the second lap but hanging on well for 57th in 1.14.20.  Matt Lewis, “fresh” from the birth of his son, ran well for 90th overall in 1.17.00 to bring home the 1st team and Dave Angilley showed his training is going well with 1.22.16 for 183rd.

Ken Curtis stormed round for a PB of 1.28.07 in 411th and Pete Torr paced himself immaculately as usual to overhaul Danny Marsh and finish in 806th position with 1.33.38.  Danny hung on well to take 937th in 1.35.30, with the charging Viv Bray closing him down rapidly with 1.36.37 for 1031st for a 90 second PB.

Well done to all.
