Pete Sargent has forwarded the attached email from close friends of Kevin.
Hopefully, as many of you as possible will be able to turn out on the day. Rather than lots of individual e.mails and telephone calls etc to Glyn and Rosie, I have agreed with them, to co-ordinate the numbers likely to attend. Therefore, if you are going, or know of anyone else who wishes to attend, could you please let myself or Jan know by the 31st March, and I shall then advise Glyn and Rosie accordingly.
Many thanks,
Pete S.
Please see below, details of a memorial service that has been arranged in memory of Kevin. I realise that yourself and other club members will remember Kevin and may wish to attend. Could you please therefore, bring this matter to their attention?
Many thanks,
Pete S.
Honouring a friend - Kevin Sharp Posted 05/03/2008.
Below, is a copy of the E.Mail I have received from Glyn and Rosie Bradbury, close friends of Kevin.
To all Kevin's friends and family
To honour Kevin we will be holding a memorial service on 19th April 08 at 11am New Polzeath (Map attached). Sadly recovery attempts thus far have been unsuccessful on Mount Tupungato and for the time being we must leave our friend to the beauty of the mountain.
Kevin as you know lived at Pentireglaze since 2000 and it is here we would like some time to meet together and remember the special chap he was.
The service will be held on Baby Bay beach (45-1hr in duration) and then in true Kevin fashion we would love everyone to have a drink and something to eat for lunch at the local Doom Bar which looks over Polzeath beach. Come suitably attired for the unpredictable but wonderful Cornish elements and for walking down to beach (no need for suits, wear what you are most happiest in).
If you would like to share memories or anecdotes at the service we would ask that you might be able to let us know so we can incorporate it (don't be nervous - this day is to laugh and share fond memories, celebrate and acknowledge how much we all thought of him). We will also have time to reminisce at the Doom Bar as otherwise we could be on the beach for a while!
Kevin loved nothing more than a slide show - and it is therefore fitting we host a slide show to remember. To mull over at the Doom Bar we'd like to show some of Kevin's amazing photos he loved to take but also some of his exploits - so would dearly love you to send or email any photos you also have of Kev or of special times you shared with him.
Please could we ask that you pass this email on to those you feel would be keen to attend the service in addition to those we have not included in the 'to' box. It would be super if you could let us know if you hope to attend (via email), as always it helps with numbers for catering.
We look forward to having everyone together
Glyn and Rosie (on behalf of his family and friends)
