CAC road runners powering ahead in latest Grand Prix standings
Grand Prix summary after 12 events. By the way, keep your eye out for the 'Glamour Girls'

The latest Grand Prix lists have just been released and our road runners are heavily featured at or near the top of most categories.

Our Men’s team have already wrapped up the team trophy comfortably but 3rd place is beckoning for the Ladies’ team, if they can go well in the Newquay 10K on 7th October.

On the individual front, Jo Friday’s already secured the overall and Under 35 crowns and Suzy Bosustow is in 6th place overall and 3rd Under 35.  A great effort in her first full Grand Prix season.  Sam Alexander has also had a superb first GP and is in 6th place in the Vet.40-44 category.  Sarah Keast and Emma Stallard would both have featured prominently if injury hadn’t taken a hold, (rigid jaw muscles from too much nagging in Sarah’s case apparently!).

CAC are looking dominant in the men’s individual GP, with Jon Keast leading the way and Jason Pascoe close behind in 5th position overall.  Matt Pullen and Dave Buzza are both looking good if they can get in an 8th race and are currently 17th and 14th places respectively.  Justin Thomas should finish in the top 10 if he can stagger on to Newquay (or the Cornish of course!).  Dave Southby is in 19th overall and 3rd in the Vet 40 age group and Pete Torr is in 4th place in the Vet 50-54 category.  Viv Bray holds down 19th in the Vet 40-44 and Graham Storer is 11th the Vet.45-49 section.

Jon, the current GP Men's leader

Norris Kington would be much higher than 7th in the Vet 65-69s but for injury and there is a long list of similarly stricken men.  Adrian Ball, Dan Simons, Noel Kindon, Ronnie James, Chris Harry, Ollie Shilston, Matt Lewis, Dave Pell, Paul Reeve, Martin Todd, Tony Shaw, Daniel Murrant and Dave Angilley, to name a few.  I’d like to count Ken Curtis in this list as he has been injured but I’m afraid his Saturday night/Sunday morning drinking problem is more often to blame for his missed races!  Oh yes, he also leads his wife astray! (not sure if I’ve got that the right way round).

Berlin bound Graham, who has not missed a GP race in 2007, so far!!

Well done all and good luck to Graham Storer in Berlin this weekend.  He assures me that Treggy, the Grizzly and Truro are out of his legs. We hope so!
