Cornwall's top female road runner Jo Friday sliced a massive 2 minutes 16 seconds off her best Half Marathon time in the prestigious Bristol Half Marathon on Sunday. Jo finished 18th in the Bristol race, one of the top Half Marathon's in the country clocking 2 hour 20 minutes 34 seconds beating her previous best which was set in the Bath Half Marathon last March.
Road Race captain Dave Buzza won the European Minorities Marathon in Flensburg, Germany recently. Dave clocked 2 hours 32 minutes 25 seconds, taking the lead at 34 km and holding it fairly comfortably to the finish.
Whilst a small team of CAC runners were taking part in the recent Treggy 7, another group of the club's road runners were testing their skills in the Perranporth Triathlon and didn't they do well. CAC members, some in disguise as Trilogic, produced some great performances.
Matt Pullen came 2nd in 1 hour 49 minutes 57 seconds, just two minutes down on Harry Wiltshire who was recently 4th in the London Triathlon. Nathan Jolly showed he's recovering from his lurgy with 5th position in 1 hour 53 minutes 32 seconds ahead of Jeff Houghton in 6th with an impressive 1 hour 55 minutes 26 seconds. Matt Lewis finished just behind in 1 hour 56 minutes 52 seconds
.
Sam Herridge, who joined us for last winter's Cross Country (and is Nathan Gosling's girlfriend for her sins!), followed up her excellent result in the London Triathlon with a superb win here, finishing 26th overall, in 2 hours 03 minutes 18 seconds. Not far behind her was the comeback King (Mark!), who finished 43rd in 2 hours 05 minutes 46 seconds, with Dave Pell 59th in 2hours 09 minutes 14seconds.
Finally to Phil Tugwell and the Cardiff 10K. Phil says, "Went around Cardiff 10k in 36:59, (sneaked it). I was pretty pleased as I haven't done any real speed work for a few months, as the shins have been a little tender. Only really been running 25 miles a week but supplementing it with the bike. Now looking forward to six stage".
Former CAC runner Robbie Bugden was 3rd in 30:15.
