CAC road runners were out and about over the May Bank Holiday weekend, making an impact in three South West road races.

Ronnie returns
The longest journey was made by Ronnie James and Tony Shaw to Exeter on Sunday for the Great West Run Half Marathon. Ronnie, on the way back yet again from injury, placed an excellent 5th in 1 hr 14 mins 30 secs and was 3rd Vet. 40, while Tony also had a good run to come 180th out of over 2000 starters.

Tony continues his steady improvement
Jason Pascoe made his lonely annual pilgrimage to Saltash for Tamar Trotters' rather hilly Half Marathon and overcame every climb the valley put in his way to place an isolated 3rd in 1.23.31, two positions higher but a minute slower than last year. "It was hot" he said!

Jason, third at Saltash
The rest threw Jason a dummy by saying they were running Saltash, but instead surfacing in Launceston a day later for the Kernow May 5 miler! Daniel Murrant was first of the CAC contingent, with a solid 13th place in 31.18. Graham Storer was a frisky 28th in 34.42, having not run London for a change, with Emma Stallard giving him a good run for his money 2 seconds behind in 29th and 6th female. Norris Kington was 63rd and winner of the 65-69 age category with a fine 40.45 and Sam Alexander dipped well under 10 min. miling with 48.51 for 98th position.

Well done to you all. Keep the ‘yellow and green flag’ flying.
