Cornwall Athletic Club was established on 1 January 1984, as a result of the amalgamation of two long established clubs, Duchy of Cornwall Athletic Club and West Cornwall Athletic Club. The Club meets at the Carn Brea Leisure Centre, Pool, Redruth and the main training evening is Tuesday, beginning at 6.30pm, apart from the under 11's whose summer sessions begin at 6.00pm.
Due to the very large number of Under 11 (Primary School) youngsters wishing to join the club, we now have an extremely long waiting list and are therefore, unable to add any more names to that reserve list. When the situation changes a further announcement will be made but in the meantime the club committee has instructed the Membership Secretary, Becky Vage, not to accept further names. We please ask that people are understanding and respect that Becky cannot waive this decision in any circumstance. If your youngster is currently on the reserve list and a place becomes available, we would hope newcomers will be encouraged to take part in the many club competitions on offer.
Training takes place throughout the year. In the winter the track is floodlit and a range of indoor facilities are also available.
Cornwall Athletic Club offers the full range of Track and Field events, under the supervision of qualified coaches. There is also a strong Road Running section and in the winter Cross Country is the main form of competition, although the younger members take part in the increasingly popular Sportshall Athletic Meetings.
